During this past weekend (3, 4 and 5 September) has produced the holiday celebrations of the Mutiny of Aranjuez. Festivities that commemorate the riot that dates back to March 1808. Mutiny promoted by the supporters, at the time, Prince of Asturias, Ferdinand, managed to overthrow the Prince of Peace, Manuel Godoy, also known as "The Choricero." In these parties make a small representation of the assault on the Palacio de Godoy. On Friday night the torches light up the Calle del PrÃncipe, where even located the said palace, now occupied by the Colegio de la Sagrada Familia.
On Saturday at the Plaza of the couples, we develop the representation, increasingly better quality of work that represents the fall from the heights to the hell of Prince of Peace. From the memory of an aging Godoy who visit Death, walk together through the causes of the Revolt and his own fall, to make way for Fernando VII. This trip becomes a journey of manners of the time. The Court, the people, and Goya, pestles, bakeries and a large group of characters, surrounded by conversations, music and dances, which take us back to that time and allow approaching the threshold of the War of Independence. The work shows sufficient reasons that account for why the start of it in the next riot, and in Madrid in May of that year.
